JUNE 2, 2014
The previous day I was preparing my datebook for June 2014. My heart grieved for all the events for the month I was going to miss: Father’s Day, my 51st B-day, Jen’s B-day, Blake’s B-day, and most importantly my son’s wedding. This month, also marked the third year of my incarceration. During my early morning devotion my Bible opened to the box of God’s restoration. I knew it was meant for me today. I accepted and received it.

After meeting with my appellant attorney for the first time we worked on the final changes of my “opening brief”. Following the meeting, I was both sad and disappointed there wouldn’t be quicker results. I tried reading the daily message in T.D. Jakes’s Hope for Every Moment before the meeting but was interrupted by the staff. I am convinced I was meant to read the passage after the legal visit.
